Agrovoltaico

REM TEC DEVELOPED THE AGROVOLTAICO® TECHNOLOGY, PATENTED WORLDWIDE. THE CONCEPT OF AGROVOLTAICO® IS TO EXPLOIT THE LAND IN ORDER TO PRODUCE ELECTRIC ENERGY, KEEPING THE SOIL AVAILABLE FOR AGRICULTURE.

The Agrovoltaico® is a single or double axis tracking solar system, that maximise the production of energy from the sun while keeping the land available for agricultural activities.

The Agrovoltaico® is a particular type of agrophotovoltaic (APV) ttechnology developped by REM Tec. It allows even an increase of agricultural yield, thanks to the shadows generated by the PV modules. Agriculture and energy production are reached following agricultural product quality criteria. The studies made in cooperation with the University of Piacenza and the experience got on the field

since 2011, allowed to reach an optimal knowledge of the PV shadowing effect on the agricultural yield. While on some crops the Agrovoltaico® system does not involves any significant yield difference, on some others it improves the production. The studies showed a yield increase of 4.3% for maize.

Agrovoltaico solar tracking system

REM TEC has patented the Agrovoltaico® technology in many parts of the world. This technology consists of a biaxial system, placed 5 m above the ground, able to maximizing the production of electricity, while the land is free for agriculture. The presence of double-sided photovoltaic modules also allows to increase the production of electricity.

Agrovoltaico suspended AGV

REM TEC has also patented a suspended Agrovoltaico® system, whose height of about 5 m making possible the cultivation of various agricultural species and allowing easy transit of all the machines used in agriculture. This type of system easily adapts to different types of soils, as it is able to resist up to a slope of 15%. The distance between the poles can be multiples of up to 25 m. The system configuration can be linear or chessboard.
