Yesterday, at our Agrovoltaico® plant in Borgo Virgilio, we harvested Alouette potatoes with students from the Department of Plant Production Sciences at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Piacenza. We are now in our fourth year of research on this variety, and the harvest, carried out with a motor cultivator, proved to be particularly productive and satisfactory. This experience is essential not only for evaluating crop yields, but also for monitoring the benefits that the integration of agriculture and photovoltaic systems can bring to the soil, such as maintaining soil moisture.
The field experience gained by REM Tec provides in-depth knowledge of the behaviour of numerous agricultural species and the advantages of agrovoltaico®. This project demonstrates our commitment to sustainable and innovative agricultural practices that combine food production with renewable energy generation. REM TEC’s Agrovoltaico® meets all the requirements of the advanced agrivoltaic system required by the PNRR and is practical proof that it is not only possible but also advantageous.
Elevated and monitored agrivoltaics is a new technology and needs to be tested in order to consolidate the positive trends observed so far. We would like to thank all our collaborators who have been with us for years, including the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Piacenza, the National Research Council, the Institut français de la vigne et du vin (IFV), and many others.
The REM Tec team is ready to assist you.
We will carefully assess your land, study the agrivoltaic solution that best suits your needs, and show you how to seamlessly integrate agricultural production and clean energy.
