We are thrilled to announce the inauguration of the new REM TEC Agrovoltaico® system at the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart in Piacenza!
Today we celebrate an important milestone: the first plant in Italy with advanced T2.3 biaxial tracking technology. This system, installed 5 metres above the ground, allows the panels to be oriented to optimise irradiation and support the growth of various species cultivated under the plant. Thanks to this innovative approach, 90% of the energy produced will be consumed directly by the institute, making it a model of sustainability and energy efficiency.
For us at REM Tec, supporting scientific agronomic research under our systems is fundamental. We strongly believe that technology must be approved and guided by science, which is why we are proud to support agronomic experiments under the panels. In the plant inaugurated today, the rows of panels are spaced between 15 and 18 metres apart and have variable inclinations, allowing the impact of different levels of shading on crop growth to be tested.
This project is just another step in a journey that began in 2011 in Piacenza and continues internationally with installations in Europe, Asia and North Africa. With continuous investment in research, REM Tec is committed to developing increasingly sustainable and dynamic agrovoltaic solutions.
As promulgated by AIAS – Italian Association for Sustainable Agrivoltaics, the sustainability of an agrivoltaic plant is not only about electricity and agricultural production, but must also consider the environmental, social, landscape, safety and, last but not least, economic impact.
The REM Tec team is ready to assist you.
We will carefully assess your land, study the agrivoltaic solution that best suits your needs, and show you how to seamlessly integrate agricultural production and clean energy.
