Today in Lisbon, we celebrated an important milestone with the inauguration of the first Agrovoltaico® plant in Portugal! Thanks to REM TEC’s single-axis technology, the plant was successfully installed on an existing vineyard, demonstrating how renewable energy and agriculture can coexist harmoniously, even in difficult terrain conditions such as steep slopes. The energy produced will be self-consumed, further improving the sustainability of the project.
This project, commissioned by Galp in collaboration with the University of Lisbon (Faculty of Agronomy – ISA), brings innovation and sustainability to the heart of Portuguese viticulture, opening new avenues for agricultural production and clean energy generation. The project demonstrates that the future of renewable energy also lies in our agricultural traditions.
We are excited to be part of this pioneering step for Portugal and look forward to seeing the long-term results of this innovative system.
